Dvorak, opera : The Jacobin

A masterpiece by Dvorak!
The Jacobin is one of the most frequently performed Czech operas.
This work recounts the story of Bohus, the son of a count, expelled by his father because of his liberal views. The young man returns to his homeland, but before he can be reconciled with his father, he and his wife are suspected by locals of "Jacobinism".
This fine work conjures such a strange atmosphere skilfully mixing melancholy, feeling and self-irony.
