An important building in the history of Prague architecture, the Clam-Gallas Palace is the first appearance of secular late baroque in the capital, designed by the Viennese architect Fischer von Erlach.
Built between 1713 and 1719 for the Clam-Gallas family, a family of Austrian aristocrats, it had four buildings arranged around a square tower. One of the gems is the central staircase, a perfect example of the excellence of Prague baroque style.
